In October 1991, a devastating and tragic wildfire occurred in the hills of the California cities of Oakland and Berkeley. The fire has been known since then as the East Bay Hills Fire. More than 3,000 structures were burned during this conflagration.
Much was said and written following the fire, but many of the hazards that existed then seem to still exist more than 25 years later. To many, it's only a matter of time until East Bay Hills Fire ver. 2.0 occurs.
